Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is the newest attraction in the fantastic South Tyrolean mountain scenery. Sulden is situated in the “Vinschgau “ valley at an altitude of 1900 m. It is encircled by the impressive mountains, all topping 3000 m. The Ortler, Königspitze, Ceveldale, Zebru and Thurwieser form an imperial mountain range in the Eastern alps. Excursion to the Kälberalm on snowshoes
The starting point for the ascent to the “Kälberalm” is the Hotel Marlet. From there the path no 18 leads upwards to the mountain pasture “Kälberalm” which is situated at 2248 m above sea level. The alp is closed during winter. You can descend the path no 24 which skirts the Coffee and Restaurant “Waldruhe”. From there you can follow the path no 6 which is leading back to the valley.
Duration: 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Round along the valley
The starting point of this easy walk around Sulden is the tourist office. Next to it you will find a trail through the forest up to the cable car
valley station. From there the trail skirts the evangelic chapel, the Suldenhotel, the Hotel Zebru and leads you until Pension Schönblick.
From there the trail shortly ascends but leads then on level ground without sloping to the Coffee and Restaurant “Waldruhe” at 1860 m. From
there you can return via the trail no 6.
Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Equipment: hiking shoes, snowshoes are not necessary.
